A common thread across recent work is the use of mundane materials as a vehicle to talk about more complex subjects.
I am interested in dreams and the subconscious, and trying to find a way to translate these indescribable moments into something you can touch. I want to be able to visually describe this kind of absurdity and nonsense.
Personal geography is also important to my work. As someone who has grown up in the Midwest I am interested in the aesthetics and culture surrounding Midwest Americana. I feel both very out of place in this culture, and such a part of it. I am interested in dissecting this relationship.
I am interested in the in between. Spaces between dreams and being awake, between connection and uncanniness.
